This museum located in Sorges is dedicated to one of Frances most prized products, the truffle. While it shares the traits of any museum, offering several exhibits covering the history of truffles, some of their uses, as well as some of the more spectacular and noteworthy truffle finds throughout France. The Museum takes their desire to share their passion for truffles one step farther.
They will take you on a guided walk through the "Truffières path" which shows you the full process of the cultivation of truffles.
Interesting side note that you may find discussed at the Museum: The ability to smell the scent that Truffles produce is an inborn trait. This is also true for animals which causes some of them to be good assistants in the hunt for truffles.
The museum is a must for anyone visiting the area, but please call ahead as it has irregular hours.
