Over looking the village of Bourdeillas the Chateau is a worthwhile visit for several of its unique characteristics.
It is comprised of two separately built portions. The 13th century portion is a defensive fortress perched on a rocky outcropping over looking the area. It consists of an octagon shaped main keep. The second portion built much later during the renaissance is anything but a fortress. Consisting of richly appointed rooms with beautiful furniture and décor. One of the most impressive rooms is the Salon Doré which boasts a beautifully painted ceiling and houses some of the Chateaux extensive collection of beautiful furniture pieces. The prize of their collection is the gilt Spanish bed of Charles V.
Probably the most unique feature though can't be found in the chateau. The designer of the renaissance portion was a, Jacquett de Montbron.
