Summer Exhibition 1st of June - 31st of August
The town of Sarlat takes the months of June, July, and August to display the works of a particular artist.
In 2003 the 'Dali in time' exhibit focused on the famed Spanish surrealist Salvador Dali. The timing of the show coincided with the release of the short animated piece Destino on which he collaborated with Walt Disney. It was also only 4 short years after Dali's death. The time reference in the title of the exhibit is a play on words as Dali's most famous work was The Persisitence of Memory, it contained several time pieces featured in the painting.
In the following years the town has had a different theme each year. 2004 was Mireio. In 2005 they moved on to Toutain. Toutain is of French birth but provides a variety to his work due to the fact that he left home at age 16 and had made a point of being a world-traveling artist.
